{"id":11,"date":"2010-01-14T07:13:20","date_gmt":"2010-01-14T14:13:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/brouzils.org\/programs\/?page_id=11"},"modified":"2016-09-07T22:34:23","modified_gmt":"2016-09-08T05:34:23","slug":"creative-arts-workshops","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/www.brouzils.org\/programs\/creative-arts-workshops\/","title":{"rendered":"The Principal Seminars: Summer 2015"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!--<strong>The Brouzils\u00a02015 Creative Arts\u00a0Workshops:<\/strong> A two-session summer program in France for serious writers and artists who wish to be mentored by accomplished professionals in a setting well away from the familiar surroundings of everyday life.\n\nThe Brouzils Seminars meet in July in a small village in the Vend\u00e9e, just south of Nantes and the vineyards of the Loire valley. Major workshops in journalism and creative non-fiction, poetry, fiction, children\u2019s literature and screenplay writing are offered to participants who have demonstrated a commitment to specific writing projects and who wish to bring those projects closer to completion.\n\n<strong>Workshops: <\/strong>The two 14-day workshop sessions are\u00a0conducted\u00a0in Le Ligny, a small ch\u00e2teau situated in a private park opposite the village church in Les Brouzils. The first session begins July 1 and ends on Bastille Day, July 14. The second session, which starts July 15 and ends July 28, coincides with an important regional literary festival held in the neighboring for\u00eat de Grasla on the third weekend in July. Last year, more than 60 authors participated.\n\n<strong>Location: <\/strong>The Vend\u00e9e, situated in the west of France just south of Brittany and the Loire, is the most traditional of French regions, with a rich history and its own distinctive character. The quiet village of Les Brouzils is located less than an hour from Nantes and approximately three hours from Paris by rail. An hour to the west is the coastal village of Les Sables d'Olonne, starting point of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vendeeglobe.org\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\">Vend\u00e9e Globe<\/a>, a round-the-world single-handed yacht race.
